Well, somebody had to say it. According to the Hull Daily Mail, patience is wearing rather fin at East Riding Council. And it's all
because of an aquatic creature seemingly straight from a Hollywood script.
The lamprey has a lifestyle akin to that of Bram Stoker's Dracula and, it has to be said, comes a rather poor second in the looks department to Ridley Scott's Alien. Yet none of this stops it appearing as a royal delicacy in the Game of Thrones books and films.
However, this gross injustice is of little consequence to the Council. What's really making local officials sick to the gills is the creature's protected status, holding up works on a flood protection scheme.
