WAS Adelaide - A traditional dance followed by an oyster welcome

Visitors and exhibitors attending WAS Adelaide in South Australia this weekend were treated to an opening with evocative traditional aboriginal dancing and, when the meeting got underway proper, to fresh oysters served straight out of their shells by the South Australian Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PRISA).

Three oyster openers were hard pressed to keep up with demand from visitors attending WAS Adelaide

Also on the PRISA stand was a handsome Blue Fin Tuna that attracted a lot of attention. Tomorrow - June 8, 2014 - this wonderful specimen will be made into the raw fish dish, Sashimi for visitors to sample.

This Blue Fin attracted a lot of attention from an admiring public as well as from staff on the PIRSA stand

Dr Jenna Bowyer of Skretting says the WAS meeting in Adelaide is a great opportunity for companies to meet their customers from around the country, engage with visitors from overseas and create a communal atmosphere. Reports from the event can be followed on Twitter at: #wasa14 or on our Twitter: @IAFmagazine.
