Skretting, the naming sponsor of the
World Aquaculture Adelaide conference, is a world leader in the

In April 2013, José Villalón was appointed as Nutreco’s Corporate Sustainability Director. José has more than 30 years of experience in the aquaculture industry. Before his appointment, José was the Vice President and Managing Director of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US) Aquaculture Programme.
His primary role was overseeing eight multi-stakeholder roundtables, collectively called the Aquaculture Dialogues, which involved the participation of over 2200 stakeholders over eight years to create global standards that address the environmental and social impacts associated with 12-species groups of aquaculture commodity production (including farmed salmon and shrimp).
He was the first Chairman of the Board of the independent Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and remains on that Board.
As Nutreco’s Corporate Sustainability Director, José is responsible for the implementation of the company's global Sustainability Vision towards 2020 that is based on clear ambitions in the areas of people, planet and profit. This vision and the related goals are an integral part of our corporate strategy for driving sustainable growth.
