21/08/13: Investment in aquaculture in Ghana and Angola; Alltech's Norwegian salmon industry video

The Volta region, Ghana will be the hub of a $8 million World Bank-funded aquaculture plan.

The area has vast unpolluted water resources such as such as the Gulf of Guinea, the greater part of the Volta Lake and a number of rivers, making it the perfect place for aquaculture

The project will focus on the development of especially inland fisheries,  increasing fish production and accelerate socio-economic growth and create jobs.

Angola is to increase its aquaculture production with government investment.

The news was revealed during the opening of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Fisheries and FAO.
