14/08/12: BAP gains two-star salmon; Nutreco stocks; help for Philippine flood farmers

News stories that have got us talking today:
  • Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) gains first two-star salmon operation in southern hemisphere.  In combination with its previously certified farms, the July 23, 2012 BAP certification of Salmones Camanchacas salmon-processing plant in Tome, Chile, established the company's vanguard two-star status.  More information... 
  • Nutreco announces that the conversion ratio of the interim stock dividend has been determined. This will amount to 1 new ordinary share for every 97 existing ordinary shares. Based on the average weighted price of 8, 9 and 10 August 2012 of EUR 57.92 1/97th share represents a value of EUR 0.597, which is virtually equal to the gross dividend in cash of EUR 0.60 per ordinary share. Both the cash dividend and stock dividend will be made payable to shareholders on August 16, 2012.  More information...
  • The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to provide help for flood affected Philippine fish farmers.  BFAR will contribute fingerlings, fishing paraphernalia, and appropriate livelihood assistance.   Read more...
